Main components of the system - Metallurgical model (core) :

  • Dynamic model: Different from fixed water distribution meters, it can adjust the water volume in real time according to the drawing speed changes, maintaining the matching of cooling intensity and solidification rate. The methods include temperature calculation models, control strategy models, proportional control, parametric control, closed-loop control of surface temperature, and control solidification position.

  • Basic automation system: Receives flow setting value instructions from process computers. The water flow to each cooling circuit can be precisely controlled by regulating the speed of the water pump through a regulating valve or a frequency converter. Real-time monitoring water pressure, valve opening degree and other parameters of each circuit is carried out, and the results are feedback to the process computer to achieve closed-loop control.

  • Advanced metallurgical models: Model accuracy is at the core of system performance. Precise thermal physical parameters of steel grades (thermal conductivity, specific heat, density, latent heat of solidification, etc.) and reliable heat transfer boundary conditions (heat transfer coefficient) are required.
