Horizontal continuous casting machine: its advantages are the lowest equipment height, secondary oxidation of molten steel, improved casting quality, no bending and straightening, which is conducive to preventing cracks, simple equipment maintenance, and convenient accident handling, but the tundish The separation of the joint with the mold is expensive, the lubrication between the mold and the billet is difficult, the mold does not vibrate when the billet is drawn, and it is suitable for small billets, various castings, square billets under 200mm, round billets, and special steel.



Why should we pay attention when using continuous casting machine?


The reverse taper is to reduce the air gap, accelerate the heat transfer of molten steel and the growth of the billet shell. Usually, the lower section of the mold is smaller than the upper section. If the inverse taper of the continuous casting machine is too small, it will cause the blank shell to break away from the copper wall prematurely, resulting in an air gap, which will reduce the cooling effect, or cause the thickness of the mold shell to be insufficient, resulting in a leakage accident. The squeezing force between the walls is too large to accelerate the wear of the copper walls.
